About Veterinarians

Veterinarians hold doctor of veterinary medicine degrees. Veterinarians diagnose medical problems, dress wounds, set broken bones, perform surgery, prescribe and administer medicines, and vaccinate animals against diseases. Veterinarians may perform surgical procedures to treat orthopedic and soft tissue injuries as well as spay and neuter dogs and cats. Commonly treated conditions include heartworms, fleas/ticks, skin disorders, physical injuries of all kinds, behavioral problems, and Lyme disease.
